Being prepared for the unexpected

Keeping your workforce secure, and productive

In Autumn, the return to schooling and for many, the return to work, heralds many uncertainties and questions around business practice. The news can be an incredibly unsettling and turbulent experience and we are all affected in our daily lives. We need to be prepared for sudden changes, and attempt, as far as possible, to adopt a flexible approach.

This week the government have announced that groups of no more than six people can meet. This is likely to leak into our working environments and it is a sensible precaution to secure a home working practice. Indeed, the on-line government guidelines state that businesses should help their employees to work from home; including this statement: ‘ensuring they have the right equipment, for example remote access to work systems.’1

Therefore, we need to manage our workforce effectively and be prepared to reconfigure our practices according to the environment, remaining flexible and versatile, ready for the next change.

Adapting to the home working/office mix

It is inevitable that for office-based organisations, there will be a combination of employees needing to work from home and those who are required to attend the office. Some employees will be self- isolating or are quarantined due to travel, infection or isolation due to a related case. There is also the possibility of future stronger restrictions, and a stricter lock down.

Business owners and managers may have anxieties around customer service and replicating the good service level provided from an office. There is no need for any concern in this regard, it is perfectly possible to equip home workers with their office based set up, at home. Even better, the Saqqara team are ready to assist directly.

The need for secure IT support

Of course, if we do resort to home working again, we need to ensure that our data and systems are secure. As part of our support, we will implement security in line with best practice. If there is a sudden change in government guidelines resulting in new working methods, we can implement this change on the spot, with no delays.

Please contact us if you want to understand more about how your network can be expanded further to work from home, and office, and how we can replicate your office based environment at home, including full telephone service.
